As the global community celebrates World Down Syndrome Day on the 21st of March, HILA, a leading advocate for inclusivity and diversity, reaffirms its dedication to promoting awareness and understanding of Down syndrome.

As a reminder of the importance of embracing differences and recognizing the unique abilities of individuals with Down Syndrome, the management team at Casa Apap Bologna and Santa Rosa, both homes managed by HILA, organised a day full of activities for the clients and created a short video to show the deeper meaning behind World Down Syndrome Day.

World Down Syndrome Day holds a significant meaning for HILA, as it aligns with its core belief that everyone deserves acceptance and respect, regardless of their differences and this makes HILA committed to taking proactive initiatives to foster inclusivity and educate the public about the value of diversity.

During the event organised at Casa Apap Bologna and Santa Rosa, both situated in Mosta, the CEO of HILA, Janet Silvio, explained how World Down Syndrome Day should go beyond the symbolic gestures, such as wearing mismatched socks.

"While these gestures serve as an expression of solidarity, true advocacy requires ongoing education and action to create a more inclusive world for individuals with Down syndrome". Janet Silvio also explained how HILA firmly believes that diversity should be celebrated every day, and World Down Syndrome Day only provides a platform to amplify this message.
