An unidentified person interrupted Prime Minister Robert Abela's Freedom Day speech on Tuesday, in his address of a peaceful and neutral Malta.

Abela was speaking in Birgu to commemorate 45 years since British forces withdrew from Malta in 1979, when he was interrupted by a protestor, telling him to "tell the truth."

"You have broken neutrality," the person shouted, seemingly taken away by security. The Times of Malta reported that the man was a member of the political party ABBA.

In his address, Abela was proudly speaking of the successes the Labour government has achieved. At the time he was interrupted, he spoke of social mobility, and also of a free Malta being a reminder of the freedom of all those who might be suffering, such as those going through difficulties in their relationship.

The Prime Minister continued his speech after a brief stop.
