A man was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning by police in connection with thefts from several vehicles in Marsa.

Police said that “immediate action” after a report of thefts from a number of vehicles in the locality was received resulted in the arrest of a 22-year-old man at around 4:45am on Wednesday.

The thefts happened in Triq il-Haddiem in Marsa and the man was reported to have been trying to pry open a number of vehicles parked in the street. A police patrol soon located the man, who matched the description given in the report.

He was arrested and when searched a number of allegedly stolen possessions together with cash and several packets of drugs thought to be cannabis.

Police did not give any further details about the man, but said he was being held under arrest as investigations continued.
