The Home Affairs Ministry has issued a total of 154 long term residency cards in 2024, information tabled in Parliament showed.

Home Affairs Minister Byron Camilleri replied to a parliamentary question made by PN MP Albert Buttigieg who asked the Minister to say how many individuals with single work permits, and who have been in the country for at least five years, have applied for long-term residency since 2022.

Camilleri said that 154 long-term residency cards were issued thus far in 2024. 10 requests for long-term residency were rejected in 2024.

There were also 366 cards issued in 2023, with one request rejected.

In 2022, 274 long term residency cards were issued, Camilleri said.
