A man was grievously injured after being hit by a car in Floriana on Tuesday, the police said.

The accident took place in Independence Avenue at 11.30am.

The man, aged 29 from Pakistan, was hit by a Seat Ibiza driven by a 23-year-old man of Kalkara.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with grievous injuries.
