A 6-year-old boy suffered serious injuries after falling into a pool and finding himself in difficulty, the police said.

The incident occurred at 2.15pm on Monday on fi Triq Sant' Andrija in Swieqi. The 6-year-old Italian boy was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

Magistrate Philip Farrugia Galea is leading an inquiry and police investigations are ongoing.
