The police said they arrested a man in St Paul's Bay in connection with a theft that was carriued out last month, and found him in possession of drugs.
Yesterday, at around 10am, while two Patrol & Community Support officers were on a foot patrol in Triq il-Boxxla, St Paul's Bay, they noticed a 22-year-old man who was wanted by the police in connection with a mobile phone theft that occurred about a month ago from a shop in St Paul's Bay itself.
The police said th officers requested assistance from their colleagues, who arrived on the scene and stopped the man. A search of his person yielded 8 sachets containing a substance suspected to be heroin. The police also conducted a search of the man's residence in Zebbug, where they found a substance suspected to be cannabis grass.
The man was arrested on the spot and is expected to be arraigned in court in the coming days.
