Prime Minister and Labour Party Leader Robert Abela has submitted his nomination as part of the process, following the general election, as stipulated in the PL Statute, ahead of next week's Extraordinary General Conference, the Labour Party said in a statement.
The delegates will vote to confirm the Labour Party leadership after the historic result achieved by the Labour Party, which won the fourth consecutive general election.
During the past days, both the Deputy Leader for Parliamentary Affairs Ian Borg and the Deputy Leader for Party Affairs Alex Agius Saliba have also submitted their nomination to be confirmed by the delegates in their respective roles.
Delegates may vote for the Labour Party leadership on Tuesday 30th June, following the opening of the General Conference, and on Wednesday from 9am to 8pm at the Labour Party Head Quarters, as well as at Ta' Sannat Labour Centre from 4pm to 7pm.
The Labour Party General Conference, themed "INT Malta: il-Ħolma tiegħek, il-Proġett tagħna", will conclude on 2nd July at the Labour Party Headquarters, which will consist of speeches by the Prime Minister, the Deputy Leaders, and the Party President.
