Government is reported to have decided to shift licence payments from decoders to satellite receivers. This could be in conflict with European Union directives.
When being interviewed by Charlon Gouder on Super ONE Television, Joseph Muscat said he is researching the issue with a group of Maltese and foreign experts.
‘If we see that there is a conflict with EU directives, we will be reporting this case to the European Commission, the Maltese and even the European Ombudsman if necessary,’ stated Muscat.
Joseph Muscat said that is a concrete example of the work that can be carried out in favour of Maltese and Gozitans from within the European Parliament.
