The court, presided over by Magistrate Saviour Demicoli, took into account the fact that the accused had cooperated with the police and admitted the charge against him at an early stage of the proceedings.
Magistrate Demicoli gave Attard a six-month prison term, suspended for two years. He was also prohibited from going anywhere near Mr Chircop against a personal guarantee of Lm100. Police inspector Yvette Farrugia prosecuted.
