During his visit, Mr Dalli held various meetings with Libyan Prime Minister Shoukri Ghanem, his Libyan counterpart Abdel Rahman Shalgam, Libyan Minister for Energy Fathi Ben Shatwan, Finance Minister Mohammed Hwaij, Minister for the Economy and Commerce Abdel Qader Al-Kheir and the deputy minister for international cooperation Mohammed Siala.

Mr Dalli also met Lafico chairman Mohammed El-Zarroug Rajab.

During these meeting, Mr Dalli discussed bilateral relations, both political as well as economical, between the two countries and Malta’s European Union accession. Both sides also discussed the need for visas to travel to and from Malta and Libya which will come into force on 1 May.

While in Libya, Mr Dalli also visited the Malta pavilion at the International Fair in Tripoli.
