The meeting, which was organised by the Mikiel Anton Foundation and chaired by Labour leader Alfred Sant, was attended by university students, industrial workers and political historians. They discussed the development of socialism over the years and its future.

In the keynote speech, Dr Sant spoke of how the ideology had developed over the years and how great importance was always given to employment.

The next meeting, scheduled for 16 April, will have as its theme Malta’s Political and Economical Developments.

The third meeting is scheduled for 20 April during which changes in Maltese society will be discussed.
