Jailed For living off immoral earnings

George Farrugia, 44, from Valletta, was accused of inciting a woman and a 16-year-old girl to offer themselves for prostitution, living off immoral earnings, damaging the woman’s apartment, slightly injuring the woman and the teenager, breaching the peace and relapsing, since he had 10 previous convictions. The crimes with which he was charged occurred on 27 December 2002 and the preceding months.

Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani Grima jailed the man for three years and ordered that the time he had spent under arrest be deducted from the jail term.

Police inspector Ramon Mercieca prosecuted.
