St Venera Launches competition for prettiest house façade

Malta Independent Tuesday, 11 May 2004, 00:00 Last update: about 23 years ago

Throughout June, Evergreen will be giving a 15 per cent discount on the products residents purchase to decorate their homes.

The offer applies to St Venera residents that present their identity card. Shoppers will also be given a 10 per cent discount card to be used after the campaign.

The decorations will be judged by an independent panel by early July. The panel will have three categories to judge – balconies, parapets and window decorations. The winners will be presented with a Lm10 voucher by Evergreen.

The campaign is part of the council’s efforts to embellish the locality. In this respect, Evergreen will also be donating 10 per cent of its revenue from the campaign in the form of plants and trees that will be planted in public areas. The council is also encouraging couples with newborn babies to sponsor a citrus tree to be planted at the Romeo Romano Garden, marking the birth of their newborn.

Speaking to TMID, council secretary Joseph Cassar explained that “the event is important because it brings the town to life. Actually, the council launched the event some years ago, and now we are trying to give it a second wind”.
