This was one of the three awards presented during the trade fair held in Oslo last Saturday. The other awards were for Most Innovative Product and Best Sales Technique.

Two other companies participating in the HSBC Young Enterprise Company of the Year Competition took part in the Junior Achievement Young Enterprise Europe Innovation Trade Fair. Dis n’ Dat and Yned, representing De La Salle College and St Aloysius College respectively, competed with a total of 30 other Young Enterprise companies from all over Europe, including Russia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Denmark, the United Kingdom and Norway.

Milestones manufacture a wide range of original glassware while Dis n’ Dat manufacture unique multi-purpose wooden boxes and candles and Yned manufacture original wine-bottle holders made of wrought iron.

Accompanying the Maltese students at the Norwegian trade fair were Young Enterprise Malta chief executive Mark Farrugia, programme coordinator Rachelle Tabone, director Matthew Xuereb, St Edward’s College link teacher Karen Lee Azzopardi and Dis n’ Dat business advisor Andrew Sammut.

Meanwhile, preparations are in full swing for the Junior Achievement Young Enterprise Europe European Company of the Year Competition, which this year is being hosted by Malta.

This event, which is expected to be the biggest ever organised by Young Enterprise Malta, will see the participation of around 200 students from more than 25 countries.

Malta has brought home this most prestigious Young Enterprise award four times during the past 11 years.
