There are many cases where marriage and the family are presented in a sensitive, serious, responsible and positive manner he said. But there are also instances where unfaithfulness, sex outside marriage and marriage divorced from its moral dimension are presented as if there is no moral damage involved. Sometimes there are even positive comments on unfaithfulness, divorce, cohabitation, contraception, abortion in certain cases, homosexuality and same sex marriages, he added, “despite the fact that these are enemies of the lifelong love and life union that God wants in marriages; and also despite the fact that such choices are against the highest common good”.
The Church expects public authorities to protect marriage and the family from “these evils” he said. If this is valid for all means of communication, it is even more valid because these means of communication are financed by the taxpayer’s money, that is money coming from the families themselves.
