Raymond Mallia, 41, was found with 150 rounds of unlicenced 6.35 calibre live ammunition on 20 December 2002. He was charged with being in possession of these items in the years before this incident. This ammunition is on the restricted list and therefore the man is also guilty of not paying duty on it.

In addition to the prison sentence, Mallia was also fined Lm31 and it was ordered that the ammunition be confiscated.

Inspector Carmelo Magri prosecuted while Dr Joseph Giglio appeared for the accused.
