Jonathan Attard, 25 stole the van some time after midnight on 24 April 1999, in Birkirkara.

After stealing the van, Attard drove recklessly and crashed into another two cars, a Vauxhall and a Suzuki Samurai. The man was also found guilty of stealing kitchen accessories and other items from a room in Ghadira and stealing several car stereos. He also relapsed in view of

previous convictions.

Together with the jail term, Attard was ordered to pay Lm650 to the injured parties.

The court was presided over by Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera while Inspector Carmelo Magri prosecuted.
