Enemalta Engineer applies for injunction against the corporation

Malta Independent Thursday, 27 May 2004, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Kenneth Abela filed the application in court yesterday. He claimed he was told to fill the post of Acting Manager Gas, with a view of becoming Manager Gas.

However, he was then suspended on half-pay after being told that he had allegedly passed on sensitive information to the National Health and Safety Authority without the necessary permission.

No date has yet been put forward to hear the case at a disciplinary board.

Mr Abela was later told to report back to work in the Petroleum Division, but to date he had not been given a position.

He claimed that he had been transferred without a valid reason and that the corporation was attempting to appoint another person as Manager Gas.

He appealed to the court to grant a prohibitory injunction to prevent the corporation from doing so.

Dr Tonio Azzopardi appeared for the complainant.
