AD's candidate for the European elections Prof. Arnold Cassola announced that upon his election to the European Parliament he will establish an on line office through which he would only be an "email away" from all Maltese and Gozitan citizens requesting his help.

AD Chairperson Dr. Harry Vassallo insisted that the people who would benefit most from green politics are those living in the more industrialised southern part of the island.

"The industrial concentration in the south of Malta should be compensated by environmental embellishment projects in the area which should be partially financed by those corporations which are utilizing this area for their activities. The south is the region which should benefit most from the European directives on the environment. We must ensure that there is someone in the European Parliament who has the full determination to ensure that these directives are implemented.“The south of Malta cannot rely on those who have abandoned them. The south of Malta cannot rely on those who have created the very environmental problems they face everyday. They need someone who can stand up to be counted wherever and whenever they need him".
