The court was presided over by magistrate Miriam Hayman.

Inspectors Nezren Grixti and Nadia Lanzon prosecuted while Dr Noel Camilleri appeared for the defence.

Noel Farrugia, 22, from Marsa, was accused of trafficking and being in possession of three grammes of heroin last Tuesday.

He also allegedly had one litre of methadone, which was found in circumstances suggesting it was not for his personal use.

Mr Farrugia was also charged with cocaine and cannabis possession. He denied all the charges being brought against him.
