Dr Vassallo said that the AD is in favour of Cottonera’s cultural development, which should always respect the residents’ needs and requirements. Residents should fully participate in the area’s economic development, and cultural heritage plays a big role in this.

Each and every activity that enhances this development should happen in full cooperation with the residents who should not only be urged to participate but should also be consulted, he said.

AD has always believed that this development is needed and has always believed that the regeneration of the south of Malta cannot be successful without the full

participation of its residents.

Prof. Cassola said that culture is part and parcel of Malta’s identity and we should do our utmost to preserve and enhance it.
