“AD is receiving a huge amount of support from Gozitans and this proves that they want to see a change in politics. AD stands for a new type of politics and a vote for AD will ensure that old style politics will be replaced by an alternative and fresh style of politics.”
Speaking in Gozo, Dr Vassallo said that for the first time in recent Maltese history, the Maltese and Gozitans will vote freely for who they consider as the most experienced and capable representative rather than for which party they want in government.
“One major problems in Gozo is the rampant development which is destroying the beautiful countryside and environment. It seems that Mepa is non-existent in Gozo as there seems to be no control at all”, said Dr Vassallo. “AD calls for strict controls on all development and the authorities must ensure that the Gozitan environment is protected.
“Another huge crisis in Gozo is employment and the economy. In the 1970s the Xewkija industrial estate employed over 1,800 people and nowadays the number has gone down to 400. New investment should be attracted and new jobs created, but unfortunately government isn’t doing much to improve the situation.”
