“Acts like this do not honour who committed them,” said a statement signed by general secretary Jason Micallef yesterday.

The crew was attacked during an MLP carcade to celebrate the MLP’s win in the European Parliament election. Bottles were thrown and the rear window of the car in which the crew was travelling was subsequently smashed by a wooden plank.

At the time of the incident, the MLP statement said a crew from Where’s Everybody, the company that produces Xarabank, was at the MLP headquarters at the Ta’ Qali counting hall.

The MLP said it showed solidarity with all journalists, and thanked its supporters who celebrated the party’s victory.
