The recognition was given by the Malta Enterprise management after GWU services and media secretary Karmenu Vella made an official request and the necessary verifications were carried out.

Malta Enterprise was set up in January and the majority of its employees were chosen from the Malta Development Corporation, the Malta External Trade Corporation and the Institute for the Promotion of Small Enterprise, which were replaced with Malta Enterprise.

Last June, the union signed an agreement with MDC, Metco and Ipse chairman Joe Zammit Tabona, in which the employment of workers from these government bodies that did not apply or were not accepted at Malta Enterprise would be secured.

The union also said it will be holding a meeting for all workers on Wednesday at the Workers’ Memorial Building, Valletta.
