Louis Cuschieri was running for president of a band club in November 2003 and it was during this period of time that the accused had claimed Mr Cuschieri was a fraudster.
Camilleri never admitted using that specific word. However, the court ruled that his actions were intended to hurt Mr Cuschieri and therefore convicted him of the crime.
The court was presided over by magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna while inspector Mario Bonello prosecuted.
