In a statement, the Gozo Business Chamber and the Gozo Tourism Association complained that the schedule of the Gozo Channel ferry service has become irregular at certain times of the day, especially during peak times when people crossing over need to be on time for work and appointments.
“This situation cannot be accepted and the Gozo Business Chamber together with the Gozo Tourism Association appeal to the government and the respective authorities to look into the matter to find a solution very quickly. This is the high tourist season and since the ferry prices have been increased, we expect that the service be given in full. We also expect the authorities to see that the baggage trolley service is on offer all the time and not only during part of the day.”
Both the Gozo Business Chamber and the Gozo Tourism Association said they were also worried about the irregular cargo ferry service operating from Sa Maison as well as about the Mgarr Terminal project, work on which seems to have stopped.
This has resulted in creating an eyesore which greets the visitor on arrival in Gozo. The tourists’ first impression of a holiday destination definitely deserves better, they said.
