The prizes were presented by Tourism and Culture Minister Francis Zammit Dimech. and those present at the prize-giving ceremony included Le Lavandou deputy mayor Charlotte Bouvard.

The regatta is organised jointly by the Malta Tourism Authority’s Paris office, Le Lavandou’s Town Hall and the Club des Passionèes.

The purpose of the Bordèe Maltaise is to encourage tourism between Malta and France and the Paris office of the MTA uses the race to promote Malta in the South of France as well as to promote Air Malta flights from Marseilles.

Before the participants left, a Malta week was organised in Le Lavandou, which included large posters throughout the city, window displays in travel agencies, a presentation on Malta by the MTA’s Paris office and a photography exhibition by local photographer Daniel Cilia.

The Bordèe Maltaise was supported by the Malta Tourism Authority and Air Malta. Arrangements in Malta were handled by the MTA’s marketing and promotion directorate.
