An AFM report said that at around 2pm Malta Radio informed the AFM rescue coordination centre that a person was suffering from chest pains on board the fishing vessel Madonna ta’ Pinu, which was 60 miles to the south of Malta.
An AFM doctor was flown to the area by helicopter and he gave medical assistance to the man, Albert Pace, 47, of Valletta. The man was later flown to St Luke’s Hospital for further
treatment.
