Man Allegedly picks fight after being asked to move his car

David-Austin Calleja from Mosta allegedly picked a fight after he was asked to move his car which he had parked in a pedestrian zone.

He was accused of parking his car, the licence of which had expired, in a pedestrian zone, threatening and injuring police sergeant Stephen Micallef, disobeying police orders, being drunk in public, breaching the peace and using obscene language.

The man pleaded not guilty to all charges against him and was granted bail against a Lm1,000 personal guarantee. Presiding magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera also ordered the accused to pay a Lm100 deposit.

Inspector Joseph Mercieca prosecuted.
