Michael Zammit Tabona, Director of the Fortel Group which manages the state of the art Thalassotherapy and Health Spa centres at the Fortina Hotel, told The Malta Independent on Sunday that Malta had significant advantages over France for British tourists to recuperate.
Among the most important is the language barrier. In France, the British tend to find themselves slightly out of kilter as most French people do not speak much English and are not exactly known for their adaptation to other languages.
“We also have the finest health spa facilities in Europe and what is found in our state of the art setup is definitely appealing to all those who are recovering from serious and complex operations”, Mr Zammit Tabona said.
Mr Zammit Tabona said that he would be meeting the British Health Secretary in the coming days and hoped to raech some sort of agreement on the issue.
“It is still early days but we are confident that with the product we are offering, the British government will choose Malta as an ideal destination for its post op patients in preference to France”, Mr Zammit Tabona concluded.
