Nicola Debono, aged 49, from Siggiewi was charged with perjury and filing a false report on 6 September at Qormi police station.
Presiding magistrate Denis Montebello granted the accused bail against a Lm500 personal guarantee.
Inspector Michael Mallia prosecuted.
