After an extensive drug squad monitoring operation, police swooped on an 18-year-old from Birzebbuga in Santa Venera. He was stopped and searched and led police to a garage in the area. A total of 65 pills were found on his person and in the garage. They also found him to be in possession of a number of counterfeit bank notes.

And late last night, police raided a Marsa bar, where the owner, a 29-year-old from Msida, was found to be in possession of 30 ecstasy pills.

The two suspects were taken into custody for further questioning. Duty magistrate Lawrence Quintano appointed a number of experts to assist in inquiries into the two incidents. They are expected to charged in court in the coming days.
