In a statement, the GWU said the radiographers complained that the public sector is the only place where they can find employment since the private sector does not have any vacancies, especially for freshly-graduated students.
They added that the private radiography clinics utilise radiographers who work for the government in the mornings.
The union said it requested an urgent meeting with Health Minister Louis Deguara to discuss the matter.
