Woman Critical after being hit by a car

In a statement, the police said the 66-year-old woman from Rabat was hit by a car while crossing Mdina Road in Qormi at 1am.

The Suzuki Super Carry which hit the woman was being driven in the direction of Zebbug by a 47-year-old man from Pietà.

An ambulance was called to the scene to rush the woman to hospital to be treated for the severe injuries she had sustained. The woman was found to be in critical condition.

The driver was also hospitalised and treated for severe shock.

Magistrate Anthony Vella was informed about the case and appointed several court experts to assist him with his inquiry. Qormi police are investigating the incident.
