The arrests took place at a party being held in Rabat, after the two were found to be in possession of a total of 86 ecstasy tablets.

The police had observed the 19-year-old dealing in drugs at an entertainment establishment in Rabat during the course of a party.

The officers approached the young man, searched him and arrested him for possession of drugs.

They then escorted him to his vehicle which they searched in his presence and in which more drugs were discovered.

A total of 84 ecstasy tablets were found – some in the 18-year-old’s vehicle and the rest on his person.

Shortly afterwards, the 16-year-old boy was searched and found to be in possession of two tablets.

The two are now being held for questioning and are expected to be arraigned in court in the next few days for possession and drug trafficking.

Investigations are being lead by Inspector Nezren Grixti of the drugs squad.
