Libyan government officials, foreign nationals and the Maltese community in Tripoli attended the occasion.

Ambassador Richard Vella Laurenti and his wife, together with other officials at

the Embassy, welcomed the numerous guests in the beautiful Shahhat Hall. Typical Maltese food that formed part of the exquisite menu was served.

The guests were entertained with Maltese music by a Maltese duo, Tony and Andre Zammit, who went to Tripoli specifically for the occasion. They played on the mandolin and guitar respectively, much to the delight of all those present. An added attraction for the guests was a DVD show on Malta’s history and culture that was provided by the Malta Tourism Authority.
