The other members of the jury were all Spanish. The jury, selected by the director general for Heritage and Cultural Affairs of the Junta de Castilla y Leon, had to choose projects and personalities for the Premios AR&PA 2004 de Restauracion.

This is a very prestigious Spanish award. There are three levels: international, national

and regional. Dr Bondin was described at the press conference announcing the award as an outstanding personality in the field of the conservation of cultural heritage and was mentioned particularly for his role as president of the International Scientific Committee for Historic Towns and Villages [CIVVIH].

The international award will be given to Profs. Francesco Bandarin, the director-general of the Unesco World Heritage Centre. Two special mentions were also being made for outstanding efforts in restoration: for the Val di Noto in Sicily and for Santa Fe de Bogota in Colombia.

The national award will be given to Antoinio Fernandez Alba and to the National Plan for the Conservation of Industrial Heritage. The Regional price will be awarded for the restoration of the Roman Villa of Alemenara de Adaja-Puras.
