Inferior Quality gas cylinders to be gradually withdrawn

Malta Independent Friday, 24 September 2004, 00:00 Last update: about 15 years ago

In a statement issued by the Department of Information, the Investment, Industry and Information Technology Ministry announced that the report by Italian industrial consultancy company OMECO showed that the government had been correct in claiming that gas cylinders of an inferior quality were in circulation.

The final results of the report show discrepancies in the quality of the cylinders and the government has ordered Enemalta to gradually remove them from the market.

Gas cylinders with a red Enemalta symbol will be exchanged for a different type of cylinders and will not be re-used.

In spite of this, there is no evidence that these cylinders are dangerous in any way and they should therefore be used until they are empty.
