Now that seven weeks have passed since they received the temporary registration with the Council for the Professions Complementary to Medicine, they are left with little hope at the prospect of employment with the government.

This in spite of the fact that a number of vacancies have been created after some SLPs ceased to practice with the government. Much to their disappointment all their requests for an indication of whether they will be employed and if so when, are being ignored, the statement said.

Working in the somewhat limited private sector is especially difficult for the newly graduated SLPs since this market is already being catered for by the established SLPs.
