After the Frecce finished their display, the Armed Forces of Malta closed off the airshow with a salute display. The weather held throughout the weekend and enthusiasts had the opportunity to enjoy the show both on Saturday and yesterday.

Yesterday’s programme, in fact, began with a display by the Civil Protection Department fire section, followed by shows from the Royal Netherlands Air Force plane, the Royal Navy Jetstream and from the Island Microlight Club members.

Later in the afternoon, the Armed Forces of Malta Alouette helicopters made their first appearance.

The Italian contingent gave displays with another set of planes it flew in for the show, followed by a display by the Royal Air force Harrier jet and two tornados from the German Navy at 4pm.
