Speaking in parliament, Mr Abela said he has long been insisting that traffic lights are installed at the junction which people use to leave Zejtun. He asked whether it was true that there were third parties who were opposing the installation of these lights.

“What are we waiting for? Another fatality? Everyone acknowledges that there is the need for traffic lights, but no one takes the initiative to see that they are installed,” he said.

Speaking on President Anton Buttigieg Street in Zejtun, he said there was a cemetery of cars and spare parts just next to a bus stop. Apart from being an unpleasant sight, he also complained about the large number of rats living in this scrap yard, which was unhealthy and dangerous to residents.
