rubble walls in question was very good, adding that the existing road already provided ample space for two cars to pass each other. The RMU also pointed out that the

rubble walls were protected according to legal notice LN 160/97.

The original scheme layout indicated that Madliena Street, Prekursur Street and Wied id-Dis Street were scheduled to be widened to 12.2 metres along with plans for three road junctions.

The first 80 metres of the roads outlined, to the north of Prekursur Street, will now be reduced to a uniform seven metres, needed for safe movement of traffic. However, this will only affect a fair-faced stonewall which is not protected.

In its decision, the Board considered that the area is predominantly a quiet residential district, with a low traffic profile, and that the existing roads are adequate for two vehicles to pass without affecting traffic circulation.
