This is a follow-up to the seminar ‘Applying EU Law in Malta’ held last March to discuss EU law issues prior to accession. This conference, to be held on Friday at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta, is designed to assist the Maltese judiciary and lawyers in the application of EU law.
The Rt. Hon Lord Slynn of Hadley and David Vaughan CBE QC will be addressing the conference, with a VIP guest speaker, expected to be Mrs Blair.
The Lord Slynn Foundation shares experiences with governments, the judiciary and lawyers of EU accession states on the legal implications of accession. The foundation has worked extensively in Central and Eastern Europe in recent years, and is in Malta for the second time.
Lord Slynn is a former judge at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg, and a former advocate general there. He is chairman of the executive council of the International Law Association.
David Vaughan is chairman of the executive committee of the Lord Slynn of Hadley European Law Foundation. He has argued almost 100 cases before the ECJ, and is a leading member of the European Circuit of the Bar of England and Wales.
All those interested in attending the seminar are asked to contact the Chamber of Advocates on 21248601 or [email protected]
