Mr Aguis was fined Lm450 after the court ruled in favour of Fr Joe Borg in a libel suit. Fr Borg filed the suit regarding an article published in the 23 February, 1997 issue of Kulhadd.

The court yesterday passed judgement in favour of Fr Borg claiming the article was indeed libellous and damaging to the priest’s reputation since it suggested he was publicly supporting one political party.

Presiding judge Mr Justice Philip Sciberras ordered Mr Agius to pay a Lm450 fine.
