Massimo Olivari, 23, from Hamrun, his brother Sandro, 19, from St Julian’s, Rayant Ellul, 22, from Valletta and Aaron Cauchi, 22, from Msida were accused of assaulting two police officers last Sunday afternoon at around 5.30pm in Marsa. They pleaded guilty to this charge.
They were also guilty of breaching the peace by shouting and fighting. Massimo Olivari also admitted damaging government property. Both Olivari and Ellul were guilty of refusing to give the police their details, threatening the officers, blaspheming and using obscene language in public.
Along with the conditional discharge, the men were ordered to pay for a pair of spectacles they broke during the assault.
