Young Man denies trafficking cannabis

David Julius Carmelino Sciberras, aged 18, was accused of trafficking the cannabis in October and of being in possession of the other drugs over the last few months.

He denied all the charges and was granted bail against a Lm900 personal guarantee. Presiding magistrate Dennis Montebello also ordered Mr Sciberras to pay a Lm100 deposit.

Inspector Nadia Lanzon prosecuted.

Libyan remanded in custody

A Libyan man was remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to heroin possession.

Ziyad Abd Al-Qader, aged 27, from Bugibba, was accused of being in possession of heroin on 21 October and over the last month-and-a-half.

He denied the charges against him and was remanded in custody, since he does not have money with which to support himself.

The court was presided over by Magistrate Dennis Montebello and inspector Nadia Lanzon prosecuted.
