Last Monday, magistrate Anthony Vella ruled the detainment of Karim Barboush to be illegal and ordered him to be released immediately. Until yesterday, the man was still being detained and his lawyers filed an application in court for his release.
The lawyers requested the court to take any other action it deemed fit considering the circumstances.
The application was filed by Dr Andrew Galea Debono, Dr Cedric Mifsud, Dr Michael Camilleri and Dr Katrine Camilleri.
