Mr Brincat said these indications were given during a meeting between EC officials and Malta’s representative in Brussels, Richard Cachia Caruana. Mr Brincat said the reasons given, were that the EU wanted to position the agency in Eastern Europe since it is more concerned about territorial than sea frontiers. Mr Brincat also probed into how much Mr Cachia Caruana’s alleged security agents were draining from public coffers. He also called for Mr Cachia Caruana to say where his residence in the Belgian capital is.
