In a statement issued yesterday, the union expressed its disapproval of decisions being taken by the government, namely the relocation of Parliament, considering the state of the country.

This is not the first time the government embarked on large projects without being aware of the precarious financial situation Malta was in.

The government was also way off mark when it came to the financial targets of various other projects. The GWU cited the Mater Dei Hospital, the Foundation for Tomorrow’s Schools and the Cirkewwa and Mgarr jetties.

The Maltese people were left to carry the financial burden of the mistakes made regarding these projects. The GWU also reminded the public of the controversial purchase of Malta House in Brussels.
